BabyBean, Sugar Lips, Little Bit and Their TRUE Due Date

Today is 09-27-2011

If KT and I would have had a normal, and by normal I mean a singleton pregnancy, then yesterday would have been our Official Due Date. After all the whirlwind of the past 10 months its hard to imagine what our life would have been like had we not had three babies. We would not have moved. We would not have had so many DR appts. There would be no need for meals on wheels (much love to all friends and fam who delivered) or bedrest. We would not have spent so much time with our families. We would not have felt as much love from our friends. My co-workers would not be beating down my office door at every branch i go to in order to find out the latest on the Trifecta. i would not have needed to submit an application to the Biggest Loser. (for me all you heartless people. I'm talking about me. Not my sweet beautiful energizer bunny wife) I would not be considering buying a minivan. We probably would have gone to the beach a little more. I would have never seen the day when both Andy and Will have either held or fed a baby (we are working on Diaper changing but thats going to be a tough one). But most importantly KT and I would never have met our precious little babies. It still amazes me that we have three. Not one. Not Two but Three hungry hungry hippos. Every day we love them more. To be honest, and all you parents out there will understand, i can't imagine a day without them. it hurts my heart to think that we may have only had one. They are most definitely a lot of work but they are ABSOLUTELY 100% WITHOUT QUESTION worth every single solitary moment!!! Each one is already so different. Each one is already so perfect. I am amazed every single day at our blessing. I don't ask God why us. I ask God why not more people? If having Triplets can pull together our blended family the way it has then Lord DO IT MORE OFTEN!!!

KT and I always wondered about how big each baby would have been had they actually carried to full term. Well, today we got a partial answer. While we know it would not have been exact, I think it would have been close. Here are their measurements

Maggie AKA Little Bit               - Head Circumference  36.4 CM
                                                    - Length                       18.5 IN
                                                    - Weight                       8LB 4OZ

Kade AKA Sugar Lips               - Head Circumference  37 CM
                                                    - Length                       20.75 IN
                                                    - Weight                       9LB 2 OZ

Larkin AKA Bean                      - Head Circumference  38.5 CM
                                                    - Length                        20.25 IN
                                                    - Weight                        9LB 12 OZ

Its hard to believe how big they have gotten in just nine weeks. Still developmentally they are on the same level as a newborn. The Dr told us that it would probably take a year for them to catch up and that is fine with us. I personally believe God gave them to us a little early so we could enjoy all the stuff no one ever gets to see :)

I've taken a lot of pics over the past week so take a look below.

Week Two In The Books

Larkin: Mmmmmwwwhhhhhaaaaaaa! Mmmmmmmmwwwwhhhhhhaaaaaa! Mommy, Daddy please come quickly. My binky fell out. My binky fell out. Mmmmmmwwwwwhhhhhhhaaaaaa! ...... Ummm, Thats better. Thanks guys. Whew, that was a close one. I thought I'd never get that binky back..... Hey Kade!

Kade: Yeah bro

Larkin: So, what do you think about this place? Do you like it?

Kade: Heck yeah. It sure beats the socks off the Hospital. Don't ya think?

Larkin: You can say that again. I mean, we no longer have those dohickey wires and things attached to us. They seemed to do nothing but get in the way.  I don't have to hear those terrible beeping noises every time i see how long i hold my breath. Well, actually that kinda worked in my favor some times when i needed something but i'm still glad i dont have to get worried about you guys everytime i hear a ding or beep. It was tough hearing those alarms go off all the time and not knowing if my favorite brother and sister were ok. I mean, i know we were in the womb together and you liked to kick me in the face some times but im still ya brotha man. I still luv you and want you to be ok. At least hear we can hang out in the pack and play together. We couldn't do that at the hospital. Our dad even lets us play all night when we know he wants to be sleeping.

Kade: I know, he's pretty freakin awesome isn't he. :)

Larkin: Yeah, and they really take care of us here. I mean, every day mom and dad have someone over to hold us and feed us and bathe us. Its really pretty cool. I even heard the grownups talking about how much fun we are going to have in the neighborhood because of everything there is to do.

Kade: Oh, really! I must have been asleep when they were talking about that. What did they say?

Larkin: Well, first they said that their are 20 kids on our street! Isn't that awesome. I mean, we will have so many friends to play with. All i know is that i can see some serious games of german spotlight in our near future. I also heard them say that there are basketball courts, tennis courts, a pool and even a river within a few minutes of us.

Kade: Really, a river. With like fish in it and stuff?

Larkin: Yeah, and i think they said that there is a rope swing or something as well. I'm not really sure what that means but it sounds fun!! Oh, and dad even told mom he would help us learn to fish.

Kade: REALLY! I think i love fishing. This place is da bomb!

Larkin: You got that right lil bro!

Kade: So, do you think that they will keep us?

Larkin: I hope so. I'm not 100% sure but I think they have to. And from what i've seen so far it seems like they really really like us.

Kade: Yeah, i got that feeling too. All i keep hearing from them is how stinkin cute we are. I dont really know why they say we are "stinkin" cute because we only poop every two days but i definitely know we are cute.

Larkin: You got that right lil man. And we need to make the most of if. Dad told mom that if we were good he would make our backyard into a football/soccer field complete with UT Checkerboard and Vandy Black and Gold endzones!

Kade: OMG, we are going to be the coolest kids in school!

Larkin: Couple that with the fact that our sister is absolutely the cutest thing ever and our life is lookin pretty good my man.

Kade: Its good to be us!

Larkin: Yes it is :)

It takes a Village

Kade - "Yes. 4 sets of grandparents!!"

That look says it all.. "I am the princess.. I can stay up from 11- 4am if I want to!"

Larkin - I like to eat, sleep and repeat
I am sure most of you know the saying.. "it takes a village" well thats the best way I can describe what it feels like to have all the babies at home. Words alone can not describe the gratitude that Rhett and I feel towards all of our family and friends. As most of you know, we both come from "blended families" which means there are 4 sets of grandparents, lots of aunts, uncles & cousins. Top that with the fact that Rhett and I were raised in Nashville.. which means lots of friends from childhood through adult life and you can imagine how big our "village" is. Having family and friends alone does not mean that they are necessarily going to be involved, however that is not the case with us. Our "village" is absolutely awesome!!
In the last 10 days we have had help feeding, burping, cuddling, bathing, changing diapers, washing clothes & bottles. And that is just with the babies. That does not include the "not so fun stuff" like cleaning the fridge, scrubbing the floor, cleaning the bath tub, watering flowers, trimming the bushes, making dinner, washing dishes, putting away dishes, etc. Some of you might think I am just listing things but thats not the case... all of these things have been done by some one for us in the last 10 days. It seems like the mere phrase of "thank you" is not enough.
Not only are we thankful for those things, we are also so grateful for the the love our babies have now and as they grow. As a mom of multiples, you can't help but wonder/worry.."will I have enough love for all three of them?"; "will they feel special enough?" "will they be held and loved on enough?" But I can take comfort knowing that our "village" is there to help make sure that the answer to all those questions is "yes"!!!
So we just want everyone to know how grateful we are, how much we love our village and that we look at each other daily and say thank God we don't have to do this alone.

Much love to "our village"
